John Redman (Chairman)

Born in Northern Ireland, John spent most of his career in the pharmaceutical industry most recently in Hull. With his business background and having had long experience as a Trustee he is familiar with the challenges and opportunities facing the Trust. John is married with three grown up children and enjoys walking in the East Yorkshire countryside.

Rev Gloria Naylor

The Revd Gloria Naylor is Vicar of St James’s Church in Sutton-on-Hull, she joined the Ann Watson Board of Trustees in 2016. Before moving to Hull she lived in London and began her career as primary school teacher. Gloria has a passion for the arts and was a trustee of the Islington Arts Factory, a community arts project, in London. Gloria is committed to the local community and serves as governor of a local primary school.

Archdeacon Andy Broom

Andy is the Archdeacon of the East Riding. His role involves working closely with the Bishop of Hull in supporting and overseeing the 195 churches across East Yorkshire; he often compares his role to that of being an ‘Area Manager’. Originally from Norfolk, he has worked in a variety of settings in Shropshire and Derbyshire before moving to the East Riding in 2014.

Nigel Penton

Nigel has lived in the Hull area all of his life. He is a retired Accountant and married with three children. Since retirement he has helped Beverley churches with their finances and served as a Governor at a village primary school. Nigel is keen to help the Trust support young people with their education at this difficult time.



Peter Overvoorde

Born in the East Riding, Peter has spent his career in horticulture starting a commercial young plant propagation business in 1976. He has been a Trustee for over 10 years and his background enables him to support the trust with an increased understanding from a farming perspective. Peter is married with four grown up children and a keen triathlete.

Rev Sue Pulko

Rev S H Pulko is vicar of St Augustine’s, Hedon and has been a Trustee since 2018.

Rev Canon Dominic Black

The Revd Canon Dominic Black BSc BA MA is Vicar of Hull Minster. Dominic worked in the Food Industry for Unilever Research before training for ministry at Cranmer Hall, Durham. Ordained in 1998 he has served his curacy at St Michael’s Orchard Park then as Vicar of Holy Trinity North Ormesby (2004-2020) and as Area Dean of Middlesbrough (2011-2020).

Pat O’Brien

Pat is a retired Deputy Head Teacher, the Chair of Governors at St. James’ C. Of E. Academy and a Church Warden at St James’ Church in Sutton.
